About Me

Hi, I’m Akhil Anil - a product enthusiast based in Dubai, UAE. I’m passionate about building meaningful digital experiences that solve real problems and create value for users. I do everything from research and design to coding my vision.

Current Role

I’m currently at one.com, where I serve as Product Owner for the AI Guild. My focus is on driving the delivery of AI-powered proof-of-concepts (PoCs) that move the needle for our product teams. I lead market research to identify new opportunities, define and prioritize features, and manage the end-to-end scope of PoC projects. Beyond product ownership, I’m hands-on with both design and development—collaborating closely with engineers and designers to turn ideas into working prototypes. I thrive in all-hands environments where I can contribute across the product lifecycle, from ideation to launch.

Previous Experience

Before one.com, I was at Volume Stories, where I began as a graphic designer and quickly expanded into product design and community management. I also served as creative director for the in-house magazine, “hello World!“. This was one of my favorite roles—an intense, fast-paced environment where I learned to deliver iteratively, adapt quickly, and wear many hats across design and product.

What I Do

I love brainstorming, ideating, designing, and coding — I’ll do it all if I could, but I take a keen interest in design especially.

As a product person, I thrive at the intersection of business, design, and technology. Whether it’s whiteboarding ideas in a brainstorm session, crafting pixel-perfect mockups in Figma, analyzing user data, or writing code to bring concepts to life, I’m passionate about every stage of the product development process.

My sweet spot? Product design — where strategy meets creativity, and user needs transform into delightful experiences.

  • Figma - UI/UX design, prototyping, and design systems (extremely proficient)

Development

I love building and prototyping ideas through code. My typical development workflow involves:

  • Cursor - My go-to AI-powered code editor for rapid development and vibe coding
  • Next.js & React - Building simple, responsive web applications with modern JavaScript frameworks
  • Supabase - Backend-as-a-service for authentication, databases, and APIs in personal projects
  • Vercel - Deploying and hosting web applications with seamless CI/CD
  • TypeScript - Type-safe development for maintainable codebases

I focus on creating functional prototypes and MVPs that bring product ideas to life quickly. Whether it’s testing a hypothesis or building a side project, I enjoy the entire process from concept to deployment.
